Preservation Houston / Pier & Beam Happy Hour

Our fall all-member happy hour is coming up! Join us for a relaxed evening with your fellow Preservation Houston and Pier & Beam members from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, at Memorial Trail Ice House, 6202 Washington Avenue.

Memorial Trail occupies the Juergen Building, a two-story commercial building constructed in 1932 by merchant J.H. Juergen with retail space on the ground floor and apartments above. The historic building found a new use in 2020 when Memorial Trail Ice House opened there, pairing the original structure with a sprawling outdoor patio. After a two-year closure, the ice house reopened under new ownership this spring.

Today, Memorial Trail offers beer, craft cocktails and plenty of outdoor space for gathering. Its current menu includes 14 signature cocktails named for neighborhoods along the Memorial corridor, including Rice Military, Camp Logan and Crestwood.

Whether you’ve been a PH member for years or are just getting involved, our all-member happy hours are an easy way to meet others who share your interest in Houston’s history and architecture. You’ll also have a chance to catch up with the PH team, hear about what’s coming up and talk preservation in a casual setting.

Feel free to bring a friend or two. As always, our happy hours are casual: Come when you can, leave when you’re ready and pick up your own tab.
